Poster Contest A Look Ahead

To Benjamin, The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival represents his Italian ancestors who have passed, his heritage that he honors and cherishes, and the legacy of food, music, and dancing which the Italian-American culture has passed on to the community.

"I love to look down the streets and see families enjoying food, friends, music, and dancing! When I look at Main Street, Clarksburg on Labor Day Weekend, I see heritage and culture and art and colors and life. My poster design depicts Italian ancestors walking through the famous arch of San Giovanni in Fiore in Calabria into the 'new world' of America. Each person in the foreground represents those in the past and how art has influenced their/our lives. There is one less person in the foreground to represent those who are no longer with us. I hope to inspire everyone to view the festival in the same way that I do!"
