Saturday, April 19, 2008 the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival introduced Regina Maria XXX and her court to the public for the first time. This year's Queen is Giuliana F. Mazza of Clarksburg. She is the daughter of Louie & Rose Mazza of Clarksburg. Giuliana is a registered nurse at University Hospital in Pittsburgh. The theme of the evening was "VENICE IN THE SPRING", and the room was decorated with scenes of Venice, an authentic gondola, and each table had an array of Italian cheeses, grapes and homemade wine by Vito Destito. The 350 guest were overwhelmed with Homemade Italian Cookies by Rose Mazza, Italian appetizers, and a wonderful Italian meal. Giuliana is dedicating her reign to her two deceased grandmothers, Pasqualina Oliverio Mazzei and Flora Policano Mazza. This year's Spring Gala was sponsored by HomefindersPlus Real Estate.
